    Hi Chris

I really got a lot out of listening to this interview with Lisa, so thanks to both of you guys for putting this out there.

I find the whole area of creating relationships online interesting and I’m just getting into the spirit of putting myself out there a bit more. Like Lisa I’m very sociable in the offline world, yet I’ve been guilt of hiding online.

For me the turning point came when I finally decided to pursue a proper business (selling PLR), as opposed to just making a quick buck online. And it’s scary, but I recognize that in order to have a successful business I’m going to have to get comfortable with feeling vulnerable and exposed in the online space. But what an amazing opportunity to rise to a challenge right?

Glad you enjoyed the interview. I’m having fun at building new relationships online. For me the the key is to be genuine and not to expect anything in return.

Yep, building relationships online and building a business do require you to get out of your comfort zone, but it can lead to many more successes.

Indeed what an amazing opportunity to rise to challenge Mena Jo!! I’m glad you got some useful tips! I agree with Chris that the key is to building relationships is to be genuine and not expect anything in return.

I am genuinely interested in other people and what others do to create business success. Congrats on picking a biz model (selling PLR). It definitely beats doing things just to make a quick buck!

I totally agree. The PLR business intrigues me for that very reason. There seems to be a genuine desire to want to help others and people are interested in what others are doing. That said, I’m still new to this so I haven’t seen the dark side yet lol – my rose colored glasses remain firmly intact!

Oh Lisa, I feel like I’ve just found my home online – the quick buck thing never really did it for me. I’m getting such a buzz out of PLR – everyday is a new adventure.

      Stay blessed.

That was a great interview! The cell phone made me feel right at home, Chris! ;)

I do think that new marketers all catch that “bug” of jumping around from thing to thing. I do feel like it’s mostly from lack of patience and focus. When you get started on a project and it doesn’t seem to kick off as fast as you feel it should, you start looking for the next shiny object. But really, there’s no “easy way” to earn money. It takes time, patience and consistency… which means sticking with it until you start seeing the results you want.

I also agree that it makes a difference having your own product. I mostly enjoy affiliate marketing because it lends extra freedom, but having your own product or service really improves the overall results of earning online.

Thanks, Chris and Lisa, for a great interview & podcast.

Thank you for your comment. Yes patience, consistency and hard work are important to online success.

Love this interview!! Thank you for being so candid and sharing your story with us, Lisa.

It’s true about needing to be and stay focused…. It seems as if shiny object syndrome is such an epidemic for marketers, myself included, and without laser focus, success is certainly going to be elusive.

Thanks again for doing the interview, Lisa. Chris, thanks for having her and I love your blog!

    • Chris Deals June 5, 2012 at 9:22 pm #

Thanks for your comment Lauri. Here is how I have over come “shiny object”; decided on what business model I want to follow, them unsubscribe from any mailing list that is not related to my chooses business model. Only buy products that will help me accomplish my goal, work hard every day towards that goal.

Thanks Rhonda! I know I love how natural Chris is lol! The cell phone haha! I do love affiliate marketing for that reason too. I also feel like your own products can lend to extra freedom. It just depends upon what type of product. Thanks for listening! :)

I loved this podcast. I feel I’ve followed a very similar journey to Lisa. We actually first met in a forum for niche bloggers. We both plugged away with that and a number of different things, and PLR ended up working for us both. I was a little more hesitant to get started with my own products though. I always question whether the things I can write about are valuable enough! But since I did my first non-PLR product last month I totally agree with Lisa that it’s a very good idea to get into it!

I’m glad you liked the podcast Ruth. We do have similar paths. I’m excited for your newest project too! I think we all question whether we have enough value to provide. I know I do! But we have to keep going and growing and providing info to my target market.

I keep telling myself there are people who know what I know and there are those that don’t. I want to reach those that don’t. And actually even those that know it can still get some value from the way we each present our info. Really we only want to reach those that want us…if that makes any sense.

I’m reminded of an old network marketing saying…some will, some won’t, so what! haha! :0)

I really love how she makes the idea of product creation easy. Im tempted to try my hand at PLR creation. but i’ll wait until i have less on my plate. i don’t want to stretch myself to thin right Lisa? :)

AW Annie that is sooo sweet thank you! But yeah I wouldn’t stretch yourself too thin. Aren’t you working on a “career break and sabbatical abroad product”? You must get that done and out there! :)
